Watch 'Out of Their League' tonight

eir sport's documentary series continues with 'Out of Their League' tonight from 11.25pm on eir sport 1.

The life of a professional footballer isn't all glamour. There's a lot of blood, sweat and tears with no guarantee of success at the end of the day as this documentary shows us.

Directed by Craig Speer and produced by Geoff Power and Medb Johnstone, Out of Their League is a fascinating look at four out-of-contract Airtricity League players, each at differing stages of their footballing careers, as they look to find new clubs in the close season.

This moving observational documentary shines a light on the backstage of Irish sport. It takes the viewer into the football lives and homes of four determined and dedicated professionals.

Here we get a singular view of life behind the scenes. We go into the very heart of sport, where skill and ambition are not always enough.

Out of Their League shows what our top sports people have to do when injury puts those dreams on hold, where personality clashes can hamper a player’s career, and where grown men have to pick themselves off the ground time and again before, once more, shooting for the stars.

Well worth a watch.
