Duffy beaten at UFC 217, St-Pierre wins

Ireland's Joseph Duffy suffered a third defeat after he was stopped by James Vick at UFC 217 in Madison Square Garden.

Having edged the first round of their lightweight contest, the Irishman was floored by a thumping uppercut at the end of the second round and never recovered as Vick moved in to finish him.

With Duffy adjudged unable to defend himself, the referee stepped in to end the contest leaving him with a 16-3 UFC record.

The headline event saw George St-Pierre return from a four-year hiatus to take the middleweight title from Michael Bisping.

The 36-year-old former welterweight king, took a long break from the sport in 2013 but showed he lost nothing during his absence as he forced England's Bisping into a third round submission.

St-Pierre has joined a select list of just four fighters in total who have held belts at different weights and it is rumoured he may face one of those dual-belt holders next year, Conor McGregor.
