Kilkenny backs Dublin youth

Ciaran Kilkenny believes that the numbers of new young talented footballers pushing for places in the Dublin panel augurs well for the future.

Speaking after his man-of-the-match performance in the 1-11 to 0-08 victory over Mayo in Castlebar on Saturday, Kilkenny stressed the importance in keeping things fresh and how that could drive the team on to even greater success.

"Me and a couple of lads are getting a little bit older and a couple of young pups are really putting it up to us now," he said light-heartedly. "That is what you want."
