Kovacic agrees Chelsea loan

Mateo Kovacic will spend the season on loan at Chelsea as part of the deal that will see Thibaut Courtois join Real Madrid.

Kovacic joined Real from Inter Milan in 2015 but the Croatia International has struggled to break into the starting line-up, featuring regularly as a substitute.

The 24-year-old featured five times for Croatia at the World Cup and he will be hoping for more game time after making the move to Stamford Bridge.

"I am really happy and excited to be here at Chelsea. It is an amazing feeling. I will try to do my best for this club. It is a new league for me, the beginning is always tough but I am sure the coach and my new team-mates will help me and I am looking forward to a great season," he told the club's official website.
