Lienster and Ireland flanker Dan Leavy's return to action has been delayed after almost 18 months on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.
The former St Michael's alumnus had been expected to take the field for Leinster 'A' against Ulster Ravens this Friday at the RDS, but has been omitted from the squad for that game.
He has not played since suffering a serious knee injury in Leinster's Champions Cup clash with Ulster at the Aviva in March 2019.
Leavy took the international scene by storm after coming through the Leinster Academy ranks and was a key figure in Ireland's 2018 Gram Slam-winning side after coming on as a first-half replacement for the injured Josh van der Flier during Ireland's opening game, a 15-13 victory over France in Paris.
He was an ever-present in the side for the remainder of the campaign and also starred for Leinster as they claimed a fourth Champions Cup crown the same year.
His return to action when it comes will prove a huge boost for head coach Leo Cullen and his staff as they prepare for the new PRO14 campaign which kicks-off on October 2nd.
