Tyrone forward Cathal McShane is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a broken ankle last weekend.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury when he fell awkwardly during Tyrone’s Allianz Leagues Division One defeat to Galway in Tuam on Sunday.
Hi ankle has been re-set and placed in a cast as he begins his rehabilitation.
Mickey Harte’s team will need to reach at least the Super 8 stage of the All-Ireland series if McShane is to feature again for his county this season.
Tyrone’s top scorer last season, McShane recently revealed on eir sport’s Press Pack programme (LIVE every Wednesday from 8.30pm on eir sport 1) that he had turned down an offer from AFL outfit Adelaide Crows to stay with his county for the 2020 campaign.
