Saints add depth with two new signings

St. Patrick's Athletic have announced two new signings ahead of the new Airtricity League campaign which begins next month.

The Richmond Park outfit will be able to call on the services of Alfie Lewis and Paddy Barrett after manager Stephen O'Donnell enticed both players to come to Inchicore for the new season.

O'Donnell, who played alongside Barrett at Dundalk, made his move after his former team-mate opted to leave Cambodian side Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng.

Midfielder Lewis joins on loan from West Ham United and, although he is yet to make his senior debut, is vastly experienced at U23 level.

“My agent texted me to let me know about the interest from St. Pat’s a few weeks ago and as soon as I spoke to Stephen O’Donnell I wanted to come over,” the 21-year-old said.

“This is the perfect time for me to go out on loan to a good club like St. Pat’s and get some experience. I’m really looking forward to it.

“I know they play a really good style of football and I’m a player who likes to get on the ball, so hopefully I can add my quality to the team and see what I can do and work hard.”
