Mensur Suljovic is looking forward to defending his title at the German Darts Masters, which is live on eir sport on Friday, 12 July.
Suljovic defeated Dimitri Van den Bergh in the decider when the World Series returned to Germany last year and he will begin the defence of his title against Maik Langendorf on Friday.
"I've enjoyed the German Darts Masters for the last two years and to win it in 2018 was a really special moment for me. It was a fantastic tournament and one of the highlights of my career," the Austrian said.
"It would be special again this week if I was to win and I know it's very hard because it's the best players in the world. I can't wait to play in front of the huge German crowds again."
The event, which will take place at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, will feature eight German competitors alongside eight PDC members, including world champion Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld.
German number one Max Hopp will take on world number two Rob Cross, while van Gerwen will face Martin Schindler.
Van Barneveld, who is set to retire at the end of the year, meets Gabriel Clemens with Peter Wright and James Wade drawn against Robert Marijanovic and Kevin Munch respectively. Former World Champion Gary Anderson faces Nico Kurz, while Daryl Gurney takes on Christian Bunse.
